Refunds and Right of Withdrawal

The short version. Ask for a refund within 30 days and you will get one. You do not need a reason and we will not argue with you. Write to playproof@nettvis.no.

Our refund policy

We offer a full refund within 30 days of purchase, for any reason or none. This is something we choose to offer. It is more generous than the law requires and it sits on top of your statutory rights rather than replacing them.

Playproof is free to use for up to 25 tracks at a time, so you can find out whether it works with your files and your gear before paying anything. We would much rather you tried it first than bought it and asked for your money back. But if you do, that is fine.

How to ask

Email playproof@nettvis.no from the address you used to buy, or include your order number. That is the whole process. You do not need a form.

The refund is made through Lemon Squeezy to the payment method you used. Their processing usually takes a few working days, and your bank may take a little longer to show it.

Once a refund is issued, the licence key stops working and the app returns to the free 25-track limit.

Your statutory right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the EEA, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance purchase without giving a reason. For digital content there is an important exception, and you should know how it works.

Why the exception exists

A licence key is delivered immediately. Once you have it, it cannot be returned in any meaningful sense. The law therefore allows the right of withdrawal to lapse for digital content that has been supplied straight away, but only if two things are true:

you gave express prior consent to delivery starting immediately, and
you acknowledged that by doing so you lose the right of withdrawal.

At checkout you are asked to confirm both. If you confirm them, your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal ends when your key is delivered.

Why this does not matter much here

Our own 30-day refund policy is longer and simpler than the statutory period, and we apply it whether or not the statutory right still stands. The exception above is explained because the law requires it to be explained clearly, not because we intend to rely on it.

If you did not consent to immediate delivery

Then your 14-day right of withdrawal applies as normal, running from the day the contract was concluded. Tell us within 14 days and we will refund you in full. You can use the model withdrawal form from your national consumer authority, but a plain email is enough.

If the software is faulty

Separately from all of the above, you are entitled to software that matches its description and works as it should. This right comes from the Norwegian Act on Consumer Purchases of Digital Content and Digital Services, which implements EU Directive 2019/770, and it lasts far longer than any refund window.

If Playproof does not do what this website says it does, tell us. We will fix it, or refund you, and the choice will be one you are happy with. This applies whenever the problem appears, not only in the first 30 days.

Disputes

If we cannot sort something out between us and you are a consumer in Norway, the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet) offers free mediation. Consumers elsewhere in the EEA can approach their national consumer body.
