Questions

Is my music uploaded anywhere?
No. Playproof works on your files where they are, inside your browser. Your music, file names and playlists never leave your computer. The only time Playproof contacts its server is to check a licence key, and then it sends just the key and a label like “Chrome on Windows”.
Does it need the internet?
You need it to open Playproof, because it's a website. After that, the work happens on your computer. A licence key needs the internet the first time you enter it. After that, being offline never locks you out.
Will it change my files?
Only when you ask it to. The playlist doctor saves a playlist when you press Save, and keeps the original as a .bak copy. The USB export writes only to the stick or folder you choose. Your music files are never changed.
Buying
What's free?
Every tool, for up to 25 tracks at a time. That's enough to see that it works on your own music.
What does it cost? Is it a subscription?
You pay once. It's not a subscription, and updates are included. Prices are on the front page.
- Playproof: for one DJ, in up to three browsers. Every tool without a track limit, except the set builder, which sorts up to 25 tracks at a time.
- Playproof Pro: the same, plus the set builder without a limit.
- Playproof Crew: everything in Pro, for duos, collectives and DJ schools, in up to ten browsers.
Payment is handled by Stripe, which also takes care of VAT for your country. Your receipt says “sold through Link”, Stripe's payment service.
Can I use it on more than one computer?
Yes. Enter your key in each browser you use. Each one counts towards your limit. Moving to a new computer? On the old one, go to Settings → Licence and choose Deactivate this browser. If you don't have the old computer any more, write to us and we'll free it up.
I lost my key.
Playproof showed it when you bought, and saved it in that browser: look under Settings → Licence there. It isn't on Stripe's receipt. If you can't find it, write to hello@playproof.app from the email address you bought with, and we'll send it.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Within 14 days of buying, you get your money back, no reason needed. See the refund policy.
Computers and software
Which browsers and computers?
Chrome, Edge, Brave or Opera on Windows, Mac or Linux can do everything. Firefox and Safari can do most of it. Phones and tablets aren't supported. More about browsers
Does it work with my DJ software?
The playlist tools read .m3u and .m3u8 playlist files. VirtualDJ saves its playlists this way, rekordbox can export them, and so can most other DJ apps. The library map reads VirtualDJ's database and rekordbox's XML export.
My player isn't on the list.
Choose “My player isn't listed”. Playproof then uses settings nearly every DJ player reads. Please also tell us the model, and we'll add it once we've confirmed what it plays.
Help
